During our Friday morning assembly, the staff show how NOT TO act on the bus. Mrs. Ward was pushing other "students," Mrs. Castelli was throwing paper, Mrs. Alley was standing on the chairs, and others were running up and down the aisles. The "students" tried to show the right way to act on the bus two times, but failed in both attempts. On the third attempt, students showed the unruly staff how to behave on the bus. The children walked in a calm and orderly fashion to the bus, they sat in the seats, their backpacks stayed in their own space without hitting anyone else, no one was throwing paper or chewing gum, and the students kept an appropriate voice level.
Thank you students for showing us the CORRECT way to ride on the bus! Tomorrow is our first PTA popcorn pop of the year. Don't forget your quarters!
The awesome first grade students in Mrs. Serazin's class is practicing their reading with a partner. The class has been working on what it "looks like" and "sounds like" when the class is reading together. The children have really enjoyed being able to dive into books!
If you want to help your student be an all star reader at home, read with him or her every night. Also, allow your child time to read out loud to you. The best way to become a proficient reader is to practice, practice, practice! |
