Second grade friends have started learning how to use student safe search engines to learn about land forms. Each student had to teach an elbow partner one "interesting and cool" fact that they learned while researching. The students used newly learned information as an "exit ticket" to go to recess.

Our Crull class did something exciting; we met up with a 3rd grade class in a different state. We had a little trivia guessing game; we had to try to guess where they were from by them giving us clues, and vice versa. This was an exciting experience with a different class. We had fun doing this activity with these third grade friends, they seemed pretty excited too! We did this little program through the wonderful app, Skype. We learned a lot from where they live and they learned about our state, it was very fun!
Thank you Mr. Dembo for sharing your son's favorite (and yours too!) story to Mrs. Serazin's first grade classroom today. We love connecting with interesting people during March is Reading Month!
For March is Reading month, I have asked the families of our students to join us via google hangout and read us their favorite picture book. I have also asked fellow educators and community members to hangout with us! Today we had Michael Medvinsky read his favorite book "Pete the Cat Rocking in my School Shoes" by Eric Litwin. Mr. Medvinsky is a middle school teacher in the Bloomfield Hills School District and a very engaging reader. If you are interesting in "Google Hangout" with us, please let me know! Mrs. Serazin |
