Every student on-task and reading in the hallway. Way to show your school-mates what awesome reading behavior looks like. :)
Thank you Mr. Dembo for sharing your son's favorite (and yours too!) story to Mrs. Serazin's first grade classroom today. We love connecting with interesting people during March is Reading Month!
For March is Reading month, I have asked the families of our students to join us via google hangout and read us their favorite picture book. I have also asked fellow educators and community members to hangout with us! Today we had Michael Medvinsky read his favorite book "Pete the Cat Rocking in my School Shoes" by Eric Litwin. Mr. Medvinsky is a middle school teacher in the Bloomfield Hills School District and a very engaging reader. If you are interesting in "Google Hangout" with us, please let me know! Mrs. Serazin First grade friends from Mrs. Serazin's visited Mrs. Finn's kindergarten to read a play. The students have been practicing the play during literacy time in the classroom, and enjoyed showing off to the little ones!
At H D Crull this month, we are turning into SUPERHEROES! Our March is Reading Month theme is “Reading gives us SUPER POWERS!” Below is a calendar of ideas that you can do with your child for March is Reading Month at home. We encourage each family to do what they can, but there are no "mandatory activities" that you family has to participate in. Our building goal is to read for twenty minutes each night, but your students' classroom teacher may have set up a different goal. There will be nothing to mark or turn in; we are trying to read each night because because we love to read. Just like how a Superhero has to work out his/her muscles to keep in crime fighting shape, our Crull Superheroes need to make our brain bigger and bigger by reading! Please remember to mark your calendars for our all school Bedtime Story night on Thursday, March 20th from 5:30-7:00 pm. We started this MRM activity last year, and the students and staff had a blast. Please join us for our second year of stories. Bedtime Story Night
